Outdoor Dreams offers
Fiberglass & Gunite Swimming Pools
Fiberglass Swimming Pools
Fiberglass pools have emerged as a popular choice for homeowners seeking a balance of durability, low maintenance, and sleek aesthetics in their aquatic retreats.
One notable advantage lies in the quick installation process of fiberglass pools. Manufactured off-site and delivered as a single, pre-formed shell, these pools can be swiftly installed (typically in about 1 week), minimizing construction time and disruption to the homeowner's property. This efficiency not only expedites the enjoyment of the pool but also reduces the likelihood of construction-related hassles.
In addition to their rapid installation, fiberglass pools are recognized for their smooth and non-porous surface. This characteristic not only provides a comfortable swimming experience, but also hinders the growth of algae and other contaminants, simplifying maintenance efforts. The reduced need for chemical usage and cleaning ensures that homeowners can spend more time enjoying their pool and less time on upkeep.
Outdoor Dreams proudly offers fiberglass swimming pool models from Latham Pools, Leisure Pools, and Imagine Pools.
Gunite Swimming Pools
Homeowners looking for a larger and/or custom design are better suited by a gunite swimming pool. Unlike fiberglass pools, which are produced in a factory, gunite pools are constructed entirely on-site. The construction of a Gunite swimming pool involves a meticulous process where a steel rebar framework is created, sprayed with gunite and then given a hand-troweled plaster or specialty finish. The construction process typically takes 1-2 months depending on the complexity of the design, weather, scheduling, and other factors.
The on-site construction process enables flexibility in design, allowing for a wide range of shapes, sizes, and depths to suit individual preferences. Whether you envision a sleek modern pool for lap swimming or a more natural, free-form oasis seamlessly integrated into the landscape, Gunite allows for the creation of a truly one-of-a-kind feature. Unlike the fixed designs of fiberglass pools, the customizable nature of gunite pools allows you to incorporate any combination of features such as tanning ledges, benches, infinity edges, hot tubs, intricate steps, and zero entry options.
From Design through Build
A Reliable Process
From design through build, we follow a consistent process to produce unique swimming pool projects that delight clients and create lasting property value.
We take the guesswork out of contracting by setting realistic expectations and charting a step-by-step roadmap from start to finish.
Right away we felt comfortable that these guys knew what they were doing. We had a plan already designed, but it ended up that it wouldn't work on our sloping topography as drawn. Greg took the time to come out to the site several times during the redesign process to measure and ensure that his new design would work on our challenging landscape. Super professional, always on time, kept us informed where they were at in the project, and willing to take the time to explain anything we had questions about. We love the way the hardscape and landscape work with the natural landscape of our property. Watching how they tackled the special challenge of our desire for a diving rock for the pool, we're confident that there isn't a job they can't do.

A perfect Pairing
Outdoor Dreams & Goochland
Outdoor Dreams' timeless design style, in-house masonry team, and preference for classic materials (like bluestone, brick, travertine, and Virginia fieldstone) pair perfectly with the architecture and setting of Goochland, VA.
Bluestone Masterpiece
This project features a large Swimming Pool with an automatic pool cover, expansive bluestone pool decking, and a masonry retaining wall to control the slope. To tie the stone hardscape into the brick house, a simple, inset border of rose brick was used. A "Master's" inspired landscape was designed to compliment the space and soften the hardscape.
Elegant Poolscape in Goochland
This project features a stunning large pool with an automatic cover, expansive pool decking, and two cabanas from Hillbrook Collections. Both the pool coping and pool decking are Grano travertine from Marmiro Stone. Additionally, to control the slope and create a flat area, brick walls were built to wrap half of the space. To match the architecture of the historic home, handmade brick from Cushwa was used for these walls.
