Outdoor Dreams' Patio Projects

An Outdoor Dreams' patio project typically includes a multi-room space with landscaping, irrigation, outdoor lighting, all necessary site work (demo, excavation, trenching, grading, soil removal, and drainage), and additional features, including grill islands, outdoor kitchens, fire features, pergolas, pavilions, retaining and seat walls, water features, and utilities (gas, electrical, water).

Our patios typically start between $35,000 and $75,000. Larger patios with multiple features typically range between $100,000 and $200,000.

From Design through Build

A Reliable Process

From design through build, we follow a consistent process to produce unique patio projects that delight clients and create lasting property value

We take the guesswork out of contracting by setting realistic expectations and charting a step-by-step roadmap from start to finish.

Our backyard project included a patio with a grill island and bar seating just behind. The beautiful fireplace encloses a TV for our entertainment. They also installed a sidewalk and beautiful landscaping with lighting to compliment the patio. The entire crew was a pleasure to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again. We had add-ons to the project and all of that was handled seamlessly. We were always kept informed as the project moved along and the on-site crew was very respectful of our home and family. If you are looking for someone to build your backyard dream, look no further. Excellent company to work with. Thanks!

Outdoor Dreams in Mechanicsville, VA

With beautiful countyside and family-friendly neighborhoods, Hanover is one of Outdoor Dreams' favorite places to work. The mix of rural and suburban settings allow for a full range of project scopes and styles. One day we could be working on Transitional project for a family in Honey Meadows or Hickory Hill and the next we could be building a rustic space for an estate off of Rural Point or Mountain Roads. Either way, we're happy and right at home in Hanover.

Mechanicsville Hillside Makeover

With one young son and another child on the way, it was important for this growing family to transform their steeply sloped, unusable backyard. Where others saw a hillside with no hope, Outdoor Dreams created a stunning 3-tiered space full of creativity and function.

This wonderful space was featured in R-Home Magazine. Check out the article here.

Kiln-Dried Wood Deck
Kiln-Dried Wood Deck
One of the keys to optimizing this backyard was adding a third tier of usable space. To do this, we designed a spacious, one-room deck that transitions from the back door down to the...
Level Playset Area
Level Playset Area
The middle tier of this space is a leveled area, designed to hold a playset that the homeowners wanted to purchase. Before our design, the backyard was incapable of accommodating a playset.
Paver Patio
Paver Patio
The lowest tier of this space is a patio composed of a rustic, cobblestone-like Antika pavers from Techo-Bloc. That patio was designed to hold 2-4 deep-seated chairs and a 4-person dining table.
Retaining Wall with Built-In Seating
Retaining Wall with Built-In Seating
As with any sloped terrain, retaining walls were required to create flat, useable areas. To make the most of the walls, we designed them to include built-in bench seating.
Wood-Burning Fire Pit
Wood-Burning Fire Pit
The built-in bench seating wraps almost 1/2 of a wood-burning fire pit. Composed of segmental blocks (to match the walls) and topped with a custom-cut stone cap, this fire pit is perfect for making s'mores.
Native-Plants
Native-Plants
With a woodland backdrop and a busy family with little time for maintenance, it made perfect sense to design a landscape composed of rustic, low-maintenance, native plants!

Our backyard has become our oasis. It’s basically what we love most about the house, honestly.
