On Saturday night, Outdoor Dreams proudly brought home five awards at the PRO Central Virginia Remodeler of the Year Awards Gala, making us the second most awarded company of the evening.
Hosted annually by PRO Central Virginia, the awards gala celebrates the region’s top remodelers, designers, and trade professionals for excellence in design, craftsmanship, and client satisfaction.
PRO Central Virginia (Professional Remodeling Organization of Central Virginia) is the local chapter of a national network of remodeling professionals dedicated to upholding the highest industry standards through education, collaboration, and ethics.
Each year, member companies submit their best work for consideration. Entries are judged blindly by a panel of senior PRO members from across the country, ensuring an unbiased evaluation based purely on design excellence, craftsmanship, creativity, and client impact.
Awards are presented in two tiers:
- Grand Prize: Awarded to the highest-rated project in each category.
- Merit Award: Awarded to the second-highest-rated project.

Every curve in this backyard tells a story of balance, flow, and function. Anchored by a Latham Axiom 16 fiberglass pool and Regal spa in the shimmering Night Sky Crystal G3 finish, the design unfolds across three terraced tiers—spa, lounge, and pool—linked by sweeping curves and Unilock Steel Mountain pavers with matching Limestone coping.
A naturalistic stream and waterfall connect the spa to the pool, blending into lush plantings and stonework. Dual Warming Trends fire features, faced in ProVia Terra Cut, ignite bold drama. With flames, flowing water, and layered textures, this retreat is designed to captivate from every angle.

Water and Flame in Mechanicsville
Outdoor Dreams transformed this Mechanicsville property into a striking retreat where fire meets fountains. Seamlessly extending the home’s architecture, the design features a custom gunite pool, integrated spa, and a pool house with a living room, kitchenette, and full bath.
Fire bowl fountains, a wall fountain, and an indoor fireplace create dramatic layers of atmosphere, while collapsible glass doors and a pass-through bar with an automatic fold-up window connect indoor comfort with outdoor living. Despite harsh winter and spring conditions, Outdoor Dreams delivered on schedule—unveiling a resort-style escape with full automation, curated finishes, and year-round functionality.

Audio, lighting, video, and comfort systems work together or independently, ensuring that no matter where you are—lounging by the pool, gathered at the bar, or relaxing in the spa—you can command the experience to match the moment.

The homeowners envisioned fire unlike anything they had seen before—dramatic, organic, and fully custom. Outdoor Dreams delivered with curved gas burners sculpted to nest within masonry walls and natural boulders, creating flames that appear to rise directly from stone.
Each burner, plate, and cover was carefully templated after construction to ensure a flawless, site-specific fit. The result is both engineering precision and artistic spectacle. Operated by keyed gas valves with remote ignition, these fire features combine safety, control, and visual drama—standing as the backyard’s true showstoppers.

This category recognizes detached residential structures—such as pool houses, pavilions, guesthouses, and ADUs—that enhance both functionality and design harmony with the home.
Project Overview:
The Perfectly Paired Pool House by Outdoor Dreams was designed to look and feel as though it had always been part of the home. Every detail—from siding and brick to cabinetry and fixtures—was selected to create a seamless architectural extension rather than a standalone structure.
Inside, the pool house features a living room with fireplace and TV, a kitchenette with Calacatta Aria quartz countertops, a spa-inspired bathroom, and a custom bourbon nook. Collapsible doors, a pass-through bar, and a covered dining area connect effortlessly to the outdoors, making this a year-round destination.
